Creating a garden is a collaboration. We bring the design experience, horticultural knowledge and practical expertise; you bring your home, your ideas and the way you want to live.
From the first conversation to the moment the planting begins to establish, we guide you through the process, bringing design, landscaping and horticulture together under one roof.
Every project is different, but a complete Gold & Wild garden typically follows five stages.
Getting to know you and your garden
It starts with a conversation.
We get to know you and your garden: how you want to use it, what currently works, what doesn’t, the look and feel you’re drawn to, and the budget you’re considering.
We’ll explore the existing garden and its surroundings, looking at the opportunities, practical considerations and natural character of the site.
You don’t need to arrive with a finished vision. Part of our job is helping you discover what’s possible.
Developing the vision
This is where the possibilities begin to take shape.
Led by Jon, we develop the creative direction through mood boards, sketches and ideas for the layout, materials and planting.
Every design responds to its owners, architecture, surroundings and existing landscape. Rather than imposing a fixed Gold & Wild style, we look for the idea that feels right for the place — and for you.
As the vision develops, we produce more detailed plans, drawings, and specifications where the scale and complexity of the project require them.
Throughout the process, we’ll talk, share ideas and refine the design together.
Bringing it to life
Once the direction is agreed, our experienced landscaping team begins the transformation.
We take care of the practical work required to turn the design into a garden — from groundworks and site preparation to patios, paths, structures and other hard landscaping.
Having design and delivery working together means decisions made on paper can be carried through into the real garden, while allowing us to respond intelligently to what we discover along the way.
We’ll keep you informed throughout, so you know what’s happening, what comes next and when we need your input.
Planting the garden
This is where everything starts to come alive.
We prepare the soil and introduce the dynamic, naturalistic planting that sits at the heart of Gold & Wild’s work.
Plants are chosen not simply for how they look on planting day, but for how they’ll live together — responding to the conditions, changing through the seasons, supporting wildlife and developing their own rhythm as the garden matures.
The result isn’t intended to feel frozen or over-designed. It’s a living landscape that will become richer with time.
Helping it flourish
Handing over the garden doesn’t have to be the end of our relationship.
As the planting settles in, seasons change, and the garden begins to establish its character, our specialist gardening team can continue caring for it.
Through ongoing aftercare and horticultural maintenance, we can nurture the planting, respond to how the garden develops and help the original design grow into everything it was intended to become.
